Good Night, Ned

Blue Shadows on the trail
Little cowboy, close your eyes and dream
All of the dogies are in the corral
All of your work is done
Just close your eyes and
dream little pal, dream of, someone

Steel

Finally had a some time to take the camera around the block… It’s so nice to have control of my photos again. Now it just needs to graduate from “My Precious Baby” status to “My Trusty Tool” status. That’ll come over time as I get to know it better.

Newbury Comics? Wha...?

Kinda weird, but there’s noone here to hear my screams, riding the train this morning I was maybe wearing too much and with all the wires on me and what not from listening to headphones and all I didn’t really feel like shedding and I got a little sweaty.

I just sat down at work (oh no, isn’t it illegal to blog about work) and shed some layers and pulled up the collar of my T-shirt to see how I smell and voila, the association I made with the smell was the Newbury Comics CD store on Newbury Street in Boston.

Uhm, weird.

Giddy

My camera arrived at work this morning. It’s too bad I have to work today. It’s too bad I’m going to see Groundation tonight. It’s too bad that battery has to charge. If only the battery didn’t have to charge. If only… Ultimate on Saturday… Oh when oh when will I be able to put the camera to use.

Update

Played Ultimate last weekend on Ocean Beach, Booty and The Beach 2005, kudos to Kasey for giving me a ride out there both days - as well as a ride to the party on Saturday night. Everyone in the tournament got a necklace that strung together the letters B-O-O-T-Y except mine said B-O-O-B-Y. They told us that people who had non-booty necklaces should make sure they go to the party, fair enough. I would have been pretty happy to just relax at the house, do another round in the hot tub, but the anticipation of what these crazy ultimate players had thought up for us special necklace kids was irresistible…. The party was fun, lots of people showed, even some folks who could’t make if for the tournament but are part of the community. Evnetually the music was turned down low and Booby and Bottom were requested to step forward. Bottom was a fast wiley boy I played against earlier in the day and now we found ourselves standing in the middle of a circle of half-drunk ultimate players… “Remember back to the high school dances, the slow dance in particular, Booty and Bottom here are our lucky performers tonight…”

I called him “Darlin’” and “Sweetie” all the next day. I was tellin’ all the ladies about how dreamy he was. How jealous they should be.

I don’t have pictures of the dance but some pictures of the tournament are posted here.

Also, I finally ordered that Canon 20D more and a 1Gig Compact Flash card, maybe this weekend I can go camera bag shopping already :) I think I was pushed over the edge on my wishy-washy-ness by all the nice cameras at the tournament.

Going to see Groundation this Friday, I’m psyched, I’ve assembled a nice group of friends for the show and I’m sure the vibes there will make everyone a friend to smile at.
