Being content

Being content is a double-edged sword. On one side you are happy with yourself and what you do. On the other you may restrict the new things you try. Either way you end up getting one of those nasty paper-cut-like numbers right on the inner bend of a finger.

Someone I know used to expound the virtue of the saying “Being content breeds complacency.” He may still, one can guess by his actions that he still believes it.

I am re-reading a fine work by Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus. This book is a good one to make you want to get up everyday, for anyone that has a problem with that. I helps me when I am concerned with being content with life.
