My wonderful girlfriend Kelly planned a surprise party for me. Her roommate Sarah, whom you see in the picture, helped with logistics and ice purchasing. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic time.
My 26th birthday on top of a mountain in Boulder. Not quite like a pizza party in the Minikani Staff Lodge (how many were there again?), but those times are gone. It was a fitting beginning and end to the first quarter century of my life. I spent the past week in an atypical reflective pose, and now we are back to the day-in, day-out here at the BACKPACKER Map Office.
As always, the Matranga brothers run Bouldertown.
More is always on the way. A month-and-a-half into this gig, and phones are flying out the doors. Technology meeting people, and people meeting technology. Hopefully the happy medium is communcation. Ideally that’s not too much to ask.
In any event, too much to say. I’ll be back in the meantime.

(much better than the taus-ditches-you-in-san-francisco birthday of 2004)
Posted by: taus at July 21, 2005 12:46 AMMore like Trangy passes out on the floor of a Tahoe beach condo after finishing the last verse of a road trip song and a cheap bottle of red wine, and then drives to San Fran to meet Ben Harper.
(Not to mention the H-Bomb squad at the beach.)
I had to go....
